MINISTER PATEL TO ADDRESS THE SA INVESTMENT CONFERENCE BUSINESS BREAKFAST

The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr Ebrahim Patel will address a Business Breakfast meeting to provide an update on government’s state of readiness for the South African Investment Conference (SAIC).

The breakfast session will also offer an opportunity for the business community, investors and SAIC sponsors to reflect on the successes registered in government’s investment mobilisation drive, as well as to share ideas and solutions on the various challenges facing the South African economy.

The 5th SAIC, which is scheduled for the 13 April 2023, also marks the end of government’s current investment mobilisation drive launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018. To date, four cycles of SAIC have raised about R1.1 trillion – bringing the President’s target of R1.2 trillion within sight. The conclusion of this investment cycle will herald the beginning of a new one in which President Ramaphosa has committed government to raise R2 trillion worth of investments over the next five years beginning in 2024.
